Clint Allen Tracy was born October 13, 1942, at Winfield, Kansas to Bishop and Lois (McGregor) Tracy. He went home to his heavenly Father, July 8, 2025, on his land near rural Toronto, Kansas while doing what he loved, gathering cattle. His family moved from Udall to Toronto when he was a small child. He attended grade school at Quincy, Kansas and graduated from Toronto High School in 1960.
Clint helped to work the family farm and spent several years on the rodeo circuit as a bareback rider. He also worked with a custom harvest crew. Through the years he worked for local farmers, ranchers, and nearby sale barns. He met and married Gail Goodrum in 1968, they were later divorced. They were parents to daughters, Teena and Tara. During these years, they farmed and raised cattle. Clint met Gail Gray-Smith in 1989, they were married February 9, 1994. This 36-year partnership was an example of true love and kindness to anyone who knew them.
Clint found his true calling when he began working for the Kimbell Ranch and formed a lifetime friendship with owner, Ed. During the span of over 50 years that he worked for "The Ranch", he looked after the cattle for Hurd Ranch Co. Ltd., until his retirement in October 2024. Clint was well known for his knowledge of grass management and raising and feeding cattle. During his life, he developed many close relationships with other young cattlemen that were special to him.
He was a 4-H beef project leader, a member of the Woodson County Cattlemen, and a 56 year member/officer of the Cedar Creek Joint District Watershed #97, In 1969, he became a member of the Woodson Masonic Lodge #121 and earned the rank of 3rd Degree Master Mason. He belonged to the Midian Shrine Greenwood Three Wheeler's Unit. In 2016, he received the Woodson County Conservation District's Conservation Grassland Award.
His greatest joy was his family. He spent many years going to his grandchildren's events. He loved it all, whether it was volleyball, basketball, wrestling or watching them show livestock. He was extremely proud as he watched his twin grandsons win multiple State Wrestling Championships during their high school years.
