Clinton Johnson Obituary
Ray was born on August 2, 1944, in Wilmington, NC, son of the late James and Veral Harper Johnson.
Ray attended Temple Baptist Church in Rockingham. He loved tinkering in his building, working in the yard, and deer hunting. It was rare that you would see him sitting down.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Shelby Allen Johnson and sister, Janice Mae Honeycutt.
Ray is survived by his sons, Steven R. Johnson (Debbie) of Rockingham and James C. Johnson (Cheri), of Myrtle Beach, SC; stepdaughter, Janice Fry (Jack) of Greenville, SC; brother, Douglas L Johnson (Sharon) of Wilmington; sister, Charlotte Perry of Goldsboro, NC; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to caretakers, Kristy Player and Arlene Chance.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 11:00-12:00 noon, at Harrington Funeral Home with a Memorial Service immediately following at 12:00 noon, with Reverend Dean Dixon officiating.
At other times the family will receive friends at the family home.
