Clyde Kenneth Bryant, age 84, of Speedwell, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born June 18, 1941, the son of the late Roy Bryant, Sr. and Roxie Inez Lidster Bryant.
Clyde was a devoted member of Town Creek Baptist Church, where he was known for his unwavering faith and commitment to his community. His service in the United States Navy stands as a testament to his character; he served his country with honor and earned respect and admiration from those who knew him.
Following his military career, Clyde embraced the title of a retired Navy veteran, wearing it with immense pride. In his spare time, Clyde had a passion for flea markets and enjoyed going “junking,” uncovering hidden treasures in the most unexpected places.
Clyde was truly a great family man, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. He cherished each moment spent with them, ensuring that every birthday was remembered and celebrated in a manner that made his loved ones feel appreciated and special. His attention to detail in remembering each birthdate showcased his deep affection and connection to his family.
An avid lover of beagles and hunting, Clyde found joy in nature and the companionship of his beloved pets. Clyde leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Hazel "Jo" Bryant; brothers, Bill Bryant, Clifford Bryant, Tom (Henry) Bryant, Carl Bryant, Junior Bryant and Harold Bryant; and his sisters, Maxine Newby, Georgie Boren and Edith Partin.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Shannon Bryant of Millington, TN, Michael (Robin) Russell of Cumberland Gap, TN and Phyllis (David) Gibson of Cumberland Gap, TN; grandchildren, Adam (Koriella) of Pamplin, VA, Whitney (Micah) Davis of Cumberland Gap, TN, Blaine Gibson of Cumberland Gap, TN, Dixie (Kyle) Loftis of Senatobia, MS, Syrenna (Dylan) Russell of Horn Lake, MS and Will Russell of Cumberland Gap, TN; grandchildren by heart, Jasmine LaBounty Rivers and Taylor Carmack; great grandchildren, Gloria Loftis, Grace Loftis, Christopher Loftis, Sawyer Davis and Hayze Gibson; as well as a host of other family and friends.
The family of Clyde Kenneth Bryant will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Travis Dunn presiding.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Mountainview Cemetery in Harrogate, TN, where graveside services with full military honors, provided by the Tri-County Veteran's Honor Guard, will be held. Pallbearers will be Adam Gibson, Will Russell, Rodney Webb, Billy Fleemon, Blaine Gibson and Micah Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilburn Webb, Virgil Webb, Jr., Charlie Dummett, Junior Albright and David Fleemon.
