Clyde Douglas Doughty Jr.

Clyde Douglas Doughty, Jr. Was born on February 17, 1932, in Boston, Virginia, to the late Christeal Doughty and Clyde Doughty, Sr. He was raised by his late stepfather, Horace Hatton. Clyde transitioned from this life on Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home in Dover, Delaware.
Clyde attended the New Boston Elementary School, in Boston, Virginia. After moving to Delaware, he attended Millsboro 204 C school and graduated from Richard Allen School.
After completing his education, Clyde began working at Townsend Poultry Plant. Later he relocated to Dover, Delaware, and accepted a position at General Food Processing Plant. Clyde was a dedicated employee of General Foods (now Kraft Foods) for 30 years mixing chocolate (oh boy how he loved chocolate). Clyde excelled in math which enabled him to succeed at General Foods.
Clyde enjoyed exercising, which helped him stay in shape. He was often seen jogging around his community.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Doughty, and his siblings, Arnold Hatton, and Barbara Gaines.
Clyde leaves to cherish his memory his children, Linda Hawkins, Dover, DE, LaVerne Maddox, and Clyde Doughty III (Deanna), Millsboro, DE; siblings, Shirley Westley (James), Gene Hatton (Marilyn), Dover, DE, and Wilkins Hatton (Gloria) of Townsend, DE; goddaughter, Sherrelle Hicks; grandchildren, Linda Doughty, Gregory Hawkins, Jr., and Anthony Morley. Clyde's legacy also remains with his great-grandchildren, Aleshia, Shontaya, Antonio, and Jeremiah; great-great-grandchild, Jahiem; godchild, Elijah Hicks; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
