Clyde Ray McAlister, 87, of Cleveland, TN departed this life on July 19, 2025. He was born October 26,1937 to the late Erb and Opal McAlister. Clyde lived a majority of his life in Bradley County. He was a member of Chilcutt United Methodist Church. Clyde retired from Shaw Industries after 15 plus years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandkids. Clyde had an interest in competitive sports from Nascar to watching the next boxing match. He also enjoyed cutting his yard. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Mildred McAlister, and sisters Carmen Goins, Kathryn Callahan.
He leaves behind his children: Sheila Wehrwein (Wayne), Tony McAlister (Shannon), Keith McAlister (Donna), and Eric McAlister (Lesa); grandchildren: Dustin Hall (Sasha), Matthew Wehrwein, Bradley Wehrwein, Aaron Wehrwein, Ashleigh Napier (Michael), Kelby McAlister, Brittany Moore (Dre), Zach McAlister, and Ashley Alverson Christian (Justin); great grandchildren: Madison, Carter, Charlie, Leanne, Katelyn, Braylon, Oakley, Tori, Mya, Ruger, Nicholas, and Eleanor. In addition to these several extended family members, nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Friday July 25, 2025 at Companion Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at 5:00pm with Rev. Guinn Green officiating. Clyde will be laid to rest at Chilcutt United Methodist Cemetery following the service.
