Clyde Woody Painter

Clyde Woody Painter, 88, of Roxboro, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at his home. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Charlie Clyde Painter and Elsie Rae Morton Painter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dorsey Thomas Painter. Woody was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and music director for 50 years.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Poole Painter of the home; two children: Alisa Painter Leybourne (Carl) of Oak Ridge and Kendall Woody Painter (Gia) of Harrisburg; two siblings: Linda Painter Howerton of Roxboro and Ronald Dean Painter (Carol) of Oak Island; six grandchildren: Greyson Edward Leybourne, Taylor Leybourne Robless (Cosmas), Austin Leybourne, Margaret Addison Leybourne, Colton James Painter and Aubree Margaret Painter; two great-grandchildren: Chandler Rose Eyring and Leo Alexander Menjivar.
Funeral service will be 3 PM Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service (1-3 PM).
