Clyde Leroy "Bud" Smith of Brush, Colorado passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at East Morgan County Hospital. He was born in Brush, Colorado on April 17, 1932, to Clyde F. and Marie (Bott) Smith. Bud was raised in Brush and graduated from Brush High School with the Class of 1950. He married the love of his life, Norma Lee Coleman, on June 22, 1952, in Tribune, Kansas, at the home of her parents, and they shared 73 years of marriage together.

Bud was a true cowboy and loved to keep up with the professional rodeo news and happenings. He spent the early part of his career riding horseback daily on the Weisbart feedlot in Brush with his father. He served his country in the United States Army, and he and Norma were able to travel to many parts of the country during this time. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1955, Bud returned to Brush, working at the feedlot.

Seeking a better life, Bud challenged himself and enrolled at Colorado State University at the age of 30, earning a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business in 1966, and began his second career in the banking business. Bud's career took him and Norma to Cortez, Akron, Fort Morgan, and Springfield, Colorado, and he retired as a Senior Vice President from Johnson State Bank in Johnson, Kansas, in 1996.

Bud was a man of faith and retired in Springfield, Colorado, where he and Norma established many friends and were active in their church. Bud was a gifted singer and loved to lead the praise and worship ministry. He has been a resident at Eben Ezer in Brush for the past few years.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Marie Smith of Brush, CO; his brother, Bob (Carole) Smith; and his sister Alice (Smith) McGuire.

He is survived by his loving wife Norma of Brush, CO; brother John (Lana) Smith of Ada, OK; and several nieces and nephews. Special friendships include Za and Kay Johnson of Fort Morgan, CO.
