Clyde Lindburg "Paw Paw" Stout, of Statesville, gained his heavenly wings on Monday, May 2 at 1:18 pm.
Pawpaw fought a battle with several health issues; dementia being the one that took him away to sit with Jesus.
He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 10 years, Marie Stout. She was his constant companion and caregiver. She fought every battle alongside him.
In addition to his wife Marie, he is survived by two sons, Tyler and Richard Braskett, grandchildren, Madalynn, Alonzo, Gemma, Josiah Braskett, Tyler and Britney Stout, one great-grandchild, Vivian Stout and one sister, Aileen Head.
Lindburg was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jerry Lynn Stout, his daddy and momma, June Lee and Susie Branton Stout, and several brothers and sisters.
Lindburg enjoyed music, both singing and playing; the guitar and "French harp" being his favorites. He played both at the same time if he chose to do so.
He could fix and work on just about any engine; Briggs & Stratton and Ford being his favorites. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, Hondas, until he was no longer able. The Blue Ridge Parkway was where he loved to ride.
Lindburg ran a bandsaw during his working years. He made lots of things to have at home that he was proud of, along with working at several furniture factories.
There will be no formal services held.
Lindburg will be deeply loved and missed by his wife.
"Go rest high, on that mountain, your work on earth is through. I'll always love you, my sweetheart. You loved me to the end".
