Charles A Stout

Charles Abner Stout, 87, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at his home in Blackfoot, ID.

Charles was born October 21, 1937 in Tulare, CA, the son of Fannie Lucinda Penquite and John Michael Stout.

Charles graduated high school in Oakdale, CA. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He served at Fort Ord with the 6th Infantry Division, Medical Company. He served his country until his honorable discharge in 1959.

Charles married Joanne Doyle on January 9, 1960 in Reno, NV. Together they had three children, Karen, Sharon and Charles Michael.

He was a firefighter in Santa Clara County, CA. He went on to be a captain at Central Fire Protection District from 1960-1977.

Charles learned to fly and was a pilot while living in San Jose, CA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reloading ammunition.

Charles was survived by his children Karen (Perry) Thatcher, Sharon (Ronnie) Dunnagan, and Charles Michael Stout; grandchildren Ethan, Cody and Kylea; and great grandchildren Ridleigh and Kase.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, parents, and siblings Clemma Maxine Stout, Dorothy Elizabeth Stout, Michael Robert Stout, Betty Lou Stout, Audrey Mae Stout Coleen Yonne Stout.

Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23 at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2025 at Hawker Funeral Home.
