Anthony M Gallegos 91, of
Blackfoot, Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on September 7, 2025. Born on January 18,1934 in Ignacio Colorado, Anthony was the eldest of 15 children born to Salomon and Rafelita Gurule Gallegos. At the age of eight, his family relocated to Nyssa, Oregon, where he spent much of his early life.
In 1953, Anthony married LaRue Michaelson in American Falls, Idaho. Together, they built a life filled with hard work, adventure, and unwavering devotion to family. Their journey took them from Nyssa, Oregon to Aberdeen, Idaho and eventually to Pingree, Idaho where they purchased a farm. After retiring, they made their permanent home in Blackfoot where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Anthony was a man of love and dedication , his family at the heart of everything he did. His warm smile was a constant reminder of how deeply he cared for those around him. A tireless worker, he spent years farming - often working seven days a week, 14 to 16 hours a day. After he retired Anthony drove trucks and school buses for Lillian Vallely School in Fort Hall, Idaho.
Anthony found joy in the simple things in life; fishing, hunting, camping, and cherishing time with family and friends. He never missed a family reunion, whether it was held in Colorado, Oregon or Idaho. Anthony loved to travel, sharing adventures with LaRue and their family to destinations such as Spain, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, and more. His home was always open to his younger siblings, many of whom found refuge and support there at different times in their lives. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and he was loved by so many; he has a son, grandson, great grandson, nephews, and cousins and even a niece that all carry his namesake.
A skilled handyman, Anthony was often found in his shop, either creating or fixing something. He took immense pride in his pristine -acre garden and orchard, which were always impeccably maintained.
