CMCS, Steven M. Dalkas (US Navy Retired), age 68, passed away on April 2, 2022 in Gulfport. He was born and raised in Holyoke, MA. He was stationed in Gulfport in 1992, and decided to become a permanent resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He served as a United States Navy Seabee for 20 years, and retired in 2006.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jennie Dalkas.
Survivors include his children, Katie Lynn Thompson and Christopher Dalkas; son in-law Jonathan Thompson; grandchildren, Jace Thompson and Riley Dalkas; brother, Earl Dalkas, Jr.; and nieces and nephews, Shannen Anthony, Jared Dalkas, Lacey Dalkas, Crystal Lewis, Michael Dalkas, Jeffrey Dalkas, Sophia Anthony and Maddox Anthony.
Steven enjoyed working as a mechanic and riding his motorcycle in his free time.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nursing staff at Singing River Hospital ICU (Gulfport) for their exceptional care.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 2:30 PM at Biloxi National Cemetery.
