Services for Cody Shane Brawley, 45, of Wilson, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, with Bro. Trent Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Reck Cemetery in Wilson.

Cody was born May 4, 1979, at Ardmore, to Ronald Dean Brawley and Linda Jo (Hunt) Sloan. He departed this life February 28, 2025, at his home in Reck.

Raised in Lone Grove, Cody was an eager student, graduating with the class of 1998. He began a career in welding, carving out a path for himself in the oilfield before discovering his love for driving trucks. His steady hands and hardworking spirit led him to be employed by Carter County District II, where he took pride in his work as a truck driver, contributing to the community he loved.  On August 18, 2006, Cody married the love of his life, the former Ms. Brandy Canfield. Together, they built a wonderful life filled with laughter, love, and the joys of parenthood. Farming and ranching were not just activities for Cody; they were a passion woven into the fabric of his being. He found pure joy in spending time on a tractor, tending to his cows, and watching the land flourish under his care. More than anything, he treasured teaching his children about farming and ranching, instilling in them the values of hard work, respect for nature, and the joys of living off the land. Cody's legacy will be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves behind a profound impact on his family and friends, who will carry his spirit and teachings forward in their lives.

Cody is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Brawley.

Survivors include his wife Brandy Brawley of the home; children, Cody Lea Young and husband James, J.T. Brawley and wife Sydnie, Justin Brawley and wife Delila, Adam Brawley, and Amanda Brawley and husband Hayden Hamilton; grandchildren, Rebel Lee Loudermilk, Wrenley Rae Brawley, Grayson Shane Hamilton, and Bodie John Brawley; niece that Cody adopted as his own, Chloe Lynn Brawley; father and mother in law, John and Estelle Canfield; mother, Linda Sloan of Lone Grove; stepfather, Randy Sloan of Ringling; brothers, Chris Brawley and wife Crystal of Thackerville, Chad Sloan of Lone Grove; numerous other family and many friends.

Honorary Bearers are Rebel Lee Loudermilk, Wrenley Rae Brawley, Grayson Shane Hamilton, Bodie John Brawley, and all of Cody’s co-workers at Carter County District II.
