Cody Carpenter, 33, passed away suddenly February 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. The family will greet guests on Sunday, February 9, from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in care of Cody's wife, Erin.
Cody was born in Corydon, Iowa and was raised in
Chariton, Iowa. He was a beacon of joy and positivity, known for his outgoing personality and his ability to bring people together. He grew up with a heart of gold and his family members always thought he could feel other people's emotions and they knew he would take care of anyone to help them.
Cody graduated from Chariton High School in 2009 and went to Iowa State University and the University of Kansas City. His love for the Iowa State Cyclones was never ending.
Cody's love for music was beyond compare. Whether it was strumming his guitar, singing along to his favorite tunes, or simply enjoying a quiet evening with his guitar, music was the soundtrack of his life. Cody even had his own bands, "Unsilenced" and "Black Beard." He had an amazing ability to find the perfect song for every moment, making every gathering memorable for everyone. Cody was truly the life of the party. He had so much charisma and charm and his genuine care for others made everyone feel special. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease, creating an atmosphere of warmth togetherness wherever he went. In 2019, Cody reunited with his soulmate Erin (Cracker). Not long after, Cody knew what he had to do, they ended up getting married in 2021. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Cody's love for Erin was evident in everything he did, and their relationship was a testament to true partnership. Cody's affection extended to his loyal dog, Harlee. Harlee was more than just a pet; she was a cherished member of the family. An avid cook, Cody found great pleasure in the kitchen. His meals were not just about food; they were about bringing people together, something he had always been best at. Cody also had a passion for disc golf. Cody's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. He touched the lives of many, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Cody will be greatly missed by his wife, Erin Carpenter; parents: Rhonda & Jake Matthews and Tom & Maggie Carpenter; grandfather, Bill Carpenter; siblings: Zach Sobek, Cassandra (Michael) Gregg; step-siblings: Shantie Chance and Dane Chance; mother and father-in-law, Mary & Stephen Cracker; sister-in-law, Emily (Chris) Griffith; nieces and nephews: Raina, Oliver, Parker, Eisley, Adley, Tanner and Theo; along with many relatives and friends.
