Cody Michael Getz, 26, of Mount Storm, WV, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 25, 2022. Born on February 26, 1996, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of Rusty and Penny Getz of Mount Storm.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Brandon Getz and fiancee Kasmira Tracey of Oakland, MD, and Shawn Getz of Mount Storm WV; a niece and nephew, Oliver and Morgan Getz; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Shirley Slaubaugh of Bayard, WV; paternal grandparents, Peter and Nancy Getz of Gormania, WV; and four special cousins, Jacob and Alyssa Mathews, Caleb and Zach Shreve.
Cody loved life. He loved spending time with his family and loved having company. He loved playing board games, watching movies and listening to music. His favorite holiday was Christmas; he loved everything about it and still believed in Santa. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and was able to go to a game and meet the players. It was one of the highlights of his life. He made everyone around him smile. Even though he spent his life in a wheelchair, he never complained. He was the most thoughtful and caring person you'd ever meet. To know him was to love him.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Mount Storm United Methodist Church from 11 AM to 12 noon. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon with Pastor Rebecca Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Storm Cemetery.
The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A. is honored to be serving the Getz family at this time.
