Cody was born to Greg and Jenny Gilbert in Roseau, MN on June 15th, 2000, the youngest of 6 siblings. He attended Warroad Schools, was involved in Boy Scouts and played basketball during his middle schools years.

Cody enjoyed being outdoors. Everything from chopping firewood to yard work and riding dirt bike and wheelers, spending time with friends and family, hunting and fishing were also part of his favorite hobbies. He grew up around the Warroad area, and during the past year he moved to Somerset, WI with his oldest sister.

He worked various jobs from farming to cooking. Cody was always a happy guy with a bright smile and great sense of humor. He so very much loved his son Henry. Their eyes lit up when they were around one another. He also had a special place in his heart for each of his nieces and nephews.

On the morning of August 6th, 2025 Cody unexpectedly passed away at his home in Somerset WI.

Cody was proceeded in death by his father Greg, brothers Monty and Nathan.

He is survived by his mother Jenny and son Henry, siblings Cassie (Mike) Dahlberg, Amanda (Alex) Stoskopf, Dylan Gilbert, nieces and nephews Jordyn, Gavin, Grayson, Gretta and grandmother Delores (Mike) Lien plus many loving aunts, uncles and cousins
