Cody Daniel Pryor, 36, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on April 23, 2025. Born on July 15, 1988, Cody lived a life full of passion, dedication, and love for his family, friends, and community. A hardworking contractor by trade, Cody’s heart was truly with the youth of Pryor. He was deeply involved with the Pryor Youth Football Association from the time his son, Justin, was in first grade, coaching not only his own children but also being a mentor and supporter to countless others. His love for sports, coaching, and his community left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Cody’s adventurous spirit showed early on when he began dirt track racing at the age of 13, competing in the trophy class division and running the local dirt track circuit. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and simply enjoying life to the fullest. In 2007, Cody married the love of his life, Nacole, in their hometown of Pryor. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, community, and creating memories. Cody will be remembered for his big heart, his unstoppable energy, and the way he made everyone around him feel like family.
Cody is survived by his wife, Nacole Ekerberg of the home; sons, Justin Pryor and Hunter Pryor both of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Addison Pryor, Allison Pryor, Aaliyah Pryor, and Brittany Allen all of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandson, Nasir Man of Pryor, Oklahoma; father, Jess Daniel Pryor of Pryor, Oklahoma; mother, Sandra Woods and husband Dennis of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; sisters, Jessica Pryor of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Cassie Salyers and husband Cory of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wanna and Pete Jamison; and Cathy Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Salina Highbanks Speedway. Memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2025, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. In lieu of flowers, donations to support the Pryor family have been set up at Bank of Commerce and can be made at any location.
