Cody Stephens, a bright and beloved soul, left this world far too soon on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on September 20, 2010, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Cody captured hearts with his exuberant spirit and a smile that could light up any room. His youthful enthusiasm for life was matched only by his love for his family and friends.
Cody attended Westwood Elementary School in Stillwater and later Perkins/Tryon Public Schools, where he not only learned but shared his radiant energy with classmates and teachers alike. He was a bright spot in every gathering, and his vivacity was infectious, inviting laughter and joy from everyone around him.
Cody had a multitude of interests that kept him exploring and engaging with the world. He cherished moments spent playing with his beloved cats—Mew, Pippins, and Toothless—and his loyal dog, Charmey. The joy he found in these furry companions was a testament to his gentle nature and deep compassion.
An adventurer at heart, Cody loved going to the lake and relished in the thrill of bike rides with his family, reveling in the beauty of nature that surrounded him. He had a special affinity for hunting for treasures at antique shops, each find sparking curiosity and joy. In quiet moments, he enjoyed watching Anime, losing himself in stories that ignited his imagination. Family gatherings were a favorite of his, as they were filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Cody leaves behind his parents, Chelsea and Josh Wells, as well as his parents Cole and Liz Stephens. His sibling, Jericho Wells, mourns the loss of their close bond, a bond filled with countless adventures and shared moments that shaped their childhood together. The love shared within this family will always be a source of strength as they navigate life without Cody's vibrant presence.
The community that Cody touched will gather to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to those around him. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, followed by a visitation with family from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. On Monday, October 13, a heartfelt celebration of life will take place at 3:00 PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, leading to his interment at Elm Grove Cemetery at 4:30 PM.
Though Cody's time with us was all too brief, the impact he made in the lives of those who knew him is everlasting. As we remember him, let us carry forward his spirit of joy, adventure, and love. Cody Stephens will forever remain in our hearts, a shining star guiding us toward the light he brought into our lives.
Memorial donations may be made directly to the funeral home to help offset funeral costs.
