Cole Edward Kyle Sr.

Cole Edward Kyle Sr. (Ed), age 78, of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, in the early morning.

He was born in Pennsylvania and lived in North Wilmington for the majority of his life. He is proceeded in death by his sister, Charlene Sommer, and his parents, Charles Ralph Kyle, Elizabeth Murray, and Alfred Murray (Stepfather). He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Flowers, his two children, Jennifer Dotson (Randall) and Cole Edward Kyle Jr, his two nieces Dawn and April. His 7 grandchildren Cody, Maranda, Peyton, Taylor, Nicole, Cole lll and Abigal. His 2 great grandchildren, Ritchie and Lisha.

He spent his time with his family and played cards with friends. He was a regular at Delaware Park and on the shuffleboard courts. He worked for years in the food & beverage industry, running Del-Techs cafeteria, and he opened his own sandwich shop, Stoltzfus, in Fox Run. He was a lifetime member at Talleyville Fire Company, and a longtime member at Millcreek Fire Company.

A visitation for Ed will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 1908, where friends and family may call from 10:30am to12pm, with a Memorial Service following at 12pm. Burial will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ed's name to the Millcreek Fire Company, 3808 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19803.
