On February 21, 2026, the Lord called Sharon J. Kyle home at age 89. Sharon was born in Mitchell, NE on September 6, 1936, the oldest child of Harry and Nettie Schaefer. The family moved to Cheyenne at the beginning of the war and her father went to work for the railroad.
Sharon attended Cheyenne schools, graduating in 1954. She attended the University of Wyoming and went to work for Mountain Bell where she met and married Oliver Kyle. They had two sons, and Sharon went to work for the State of Wyoming, retiring after 32 years.
She enjoyed church, quilting, reading, gardening, traveling with groups, and meeting once a month to plan trips. She was a Lutheran all her life and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sons Duane Kyle, Gary (Valerie) Kyle; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and sister Janet (Jerold) Manners.
Funeral Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 1:30 pm. Viewing for Sharon will be held on March 2nd from 9:00 am – 11:30 am at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service.
