Cole Henry Schleper

Cole Henry Schleper, aged 80, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton NJ. Born on July 2, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, Cole led a life marked by dedication, passion, and kindness, leaving an impression on all who knew him.
Cole's early life in Pittsburgh and later in Cincinnati laid a strong foundation for his future. He courageously served his country in Vietnam as a member of the Army Military Police. His experiences overseas not only shaped his worldview but also ignited his lifelong interest in Asian art, a collection that he would continue to expand with great enthusiasm throughout his life.
Following his military service, Cole obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business at Rider University. His career in Retail Sales led him to positions in Dunham's Department Stores as their toy buyer, a managerial position in Radio Shack, and finally as manager of the book department at the Princeton University Store. His friendly demeanor and genuine interest in people made him well-liked among customers and colleagues alike. Beyond his professional life, Cole was an active member of the Jersey Shore Live Steam Railroad club in Tuckerton NJ sharing his love for trains and their history with fellow enthusiasts.
Cole was an interesting and personable man, qualities that endeared him to his family and friends. He married his loving wife, Donna, and together they raised a beautiful family, including their daughter Kristen and her spouse Autumn, his son Brian, and Brian's wife Casey, and son Keith. Cole took immense joy in his role as a big brother to David and Ann, and as a loving grandfather to Matthew, Gemma, Juliana, Avery, and Harper. The recent addition of great-grandchildren Milo and Oliver brought him great joy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. One of his favorite pastimes was telling them stories of his life and experiences.
As we bid farewell to Cole Henry Schleper, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his stories will be passed down through generations. Cole's journey may have come to a close, but the tracks he laid in the hearts and minds of his loved ones will ensure that his spirit remains vibrant and cherished forever.
