With profound love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son and brother, Colin Scott Mills, who returned home to his Heavenly Father on October 2, 2025, at the age of 40.
Colin was born on March 15, 1985, in Provo, Utah to Clair and Maureen Mills. From a young age, he was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering faith. He grew up with a love for art, reading, friends, computers, dancing and games, a talent for bringing people together, and a deep commitment to his family and his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He met his eternal companion, Hillary Hough, on a dating site before it was cool to do so, and they quickly bonded over good food and nerdy jokes. After just six months of dating, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Salt Lake City Temple on October 3rd, 2014. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and gospel-centered living. Colin was a devoted father who found his greatest joy in spending time with his children—teaching them, playing with them, and showing them what it means to love selflessly. He loved to share his hobbies with his family. Many nights were spent painting mini figures together, playing board games and video games, but his favorite activity was being the Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons. He loved to write his own campaigns and ran a weekly game for friends, a campaign for his young children, and a monthly game at the library where he volunteered.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Colin served in many callings over the years, including a mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil, always giving his best with humility and quiet strength. His testimony of the gospel shone through his daily actions-he served others quietly, lifted the weary, and lived with gratitude and grace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hillary; their four children, Jordan, Cyrus, Liam and Ronan; his parents, Clair and Maureen; siblings Nicki (Jake), Chris (Viv), Erica (Sean) and Michelle (Jordan); and many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and in-laws.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held on Thursday October 16, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1039 E Crestwood Rd., Kaysville, Utah
Though our hearts ache with his passing, we find comfort in the promise of the resurrection and the knowledge that families can be together forever.
