Colin C. Moran of Plymouth, MA died peacefully on June 27, 2024 at South Shore Hospital surrounded by loving family. Colin was born to the late Guy and Charlotte (Bidwell) Moran on November 26, 1943 in Springfield, MA. After graduating from the Springfield school system, Colin went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in psychology from American International College and a Master's Degree in psychology from Northeastern University.
Colin spent 34 years working at Massasoit Community College in Brockton where he held many positions including Professor of Psychology and Dean of Academic Affairs before retiring as Chief Information Officer. He was an active member and lay speaker of the Hingham United Methodist Church for many years.
Known lovingly as a gentle giant and a true gentleman, Colin's super power was making everyone he met feel special. He enjoyed fly fishing, being a ham radio operator (WB1/GZB), and spending time with his family and friends at Wyonegonic Family Camp in Maine. He was an avid car buff and an endless pool of knowledge. Whether he was tinkering with an engine in the garage, building a computer, reading a good book, spending the day at the beach, or sipping a good beer in the evening, he found something to enjoy in every day.
Colin is survived by his loving wife Carolyn (Sherren) Moran and his children Sarah (Ben) Goodwin of Shirley, MA; Seth (Janice) Moran of Tyngsboro, MA; Lisa (Eric) Matckie of Stowe, VT; and Derek (Mistie) Fagone of Reed Point, MT. He was the brother of Wendy Gilman of Cotati, CA, and the grandfather of Cecilia and Liam Goodwin, Elizabeth and Grayson Moran, Mackenzie, Brett, and Carson Matckie, and Jorjana and Ciara Fagone. He was predeceased by his brother, David Moran of Agawam, and his beloved first wife and mother of Sarah and Seth, Mary V. "Bonnie" (Fuller) Moran.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Colin's name may be made to Sharing, Inc at P.O. Box 850153 Braintree, MA 02185, where he served on the board and volunteered for many years.
