Colleen Alexander Cottrill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2024.
Colleen "Didd" Alexander Cottrill, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 91. Colleen was born on January 18, 1933, in Okoboji, South Dakota, to Jay Atcheson Alexander and Gladys Leona West Alexander.

Throughout her life, Colleen was a devoted caregiver, both as a mother and as a nurse in her professional career. Her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many patients and families under her care.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack Alexander, her son Jerry Cottrill, and three grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter JaDene Forgey (Wayne) and son Jay Wallace Cottrill, along with seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Beyond her nurturing spirit, Colleen had a zest for life. She found joy in the simple pleasures, particularly her love for dogs, which brought her endless companionship and comfort. She also had a passion for sports and horseraces, often cheering on her favorite teams and horses with enthusiasm.

Colleen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
