Colleen Ann Bosch

June 27,1928-Nov 24, 2025

Our beloved Colleen passed away peacefully on Nov 24, 2025 at Holy Family Hospital with family at her bedside. Colleen was born at home in Wallowa OR, to William and Annetta Goebel on June 27th, 1928. She grew up on a farm in Wallowa and with her younger sister helped daily with the many chores including baling hay, picking apples in the orchard and raising chickens. These activities helped her to develop the strong work ethic she carried with her through life. Colleen was a graduate of Wallowa High School in 1946. She worked at the creamery in Wallowa, developing accounting and management skills. She attended Oregon State College, Walla Walla and Spokane Community Colleges studying Business Administration, bookkeeping and accounting. For most of her working life, Colleen was a bookkeeper, accountant and office manager. Her longest tenure was with Mutual Beneficial Life for 15 yrs before retiring in 1983. Her first marriage of 10 years was to E. Rhodes in 1956. She helped to raise three stepsons during this time. In Aug of 1977 she married William W Bosch, the love of her life in Bellevue WA, and they settled in Spokane. Colleen and Bill loved dancing at the Elks and traveling, by car, by air and by cruising. Among their favorite places they visited were Hawaii, Victoria BC, Australia, the Caribbean, and Puerta Vallarta. They bought a timeshare in Hope ID in the early 1980's and enjoyed many summers there with family, boating and fishing together. In her free time Colleen enjoyed knitting, cross stitching and volunteering in her community. She spent hours at Our Place Community Outreach helping the homeless, weeding the gardens and organizing the church bazaars at St Francis of Assisi, and quilting with the St Al's church quilting group whose quilts were donated to many charities. She was a resident of Spokane for 69 years, living the last 6 years at Fairwinds. Her survivors include stepsons Bill Bosch, Yakima WA, Bob Bosch, Seattle WA, Richard Rhodes, Santee CA and Gerald Rhodes (Suzie) Pendleton OR. Stepdaughters Carol Schoentrup Spokane WA, Terri Hart (Stuart) Spokane WA. Step grandchildren Heather, Ben and Elizabeth Hart, Todd and Drew Schoentrup, Ellie Bosch, and Adrian Blackhurst. Step great-grandchildren Henry, Violet and Rosie Baird, Madison and Eli Schoentrup, Mia and Aroa Tarodo Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents Wm and Annetta Goebel, her sister Joyce Goebel Ostrander, her husband William W Bosch, her stepdaughter Joan M Bosch, and stepsons Daniel J Bosch, and Robert Rhodes.

Colleen was a fun, kind, and generous person with a marvelous sense of humor. She was a blessing in our lives and in the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Remember her with an act of kindness. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Our Place Community Outreach or Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Services planned at a later date with burial to be in Wallowa, OR.
