Born March 28, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, Colleen was a daughter of Francis and Lois (McCue) Caher. She was raised in Manhattan, Illinois, and graduated with the Peotone High School Class of 1977. Over the years, she also made her home in Elwood, Illinois.
In her younger years, Colleen loved playing softball. She later found joy in crafting, exploring her Irish heritage, and most of all, spending time with her family and cherishing her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children: Amanda (Scott) Hill, Janel (fiancé James Altobelli) Couch and Jeremey (Jessica) Caher; seven grandchildren: Julia, Alissia, Elia, Anthony, Sydney, Grayson and Everly; five sisters: Deb (Frank) Lawerence, Peg (Jim Ellingham) Caprara, Eileen Ginter, Mary Caher and Teri (Keith) Siefert; two brothers: Tim (Lori) Caher and Michael (Shannon) Caher; nieces and nephews: Jonathan, Jimmy, Chrissy, Wayne, James, Jeff, Shannon, Katie, Taylor, Erika, Matt, Regan, Jacob and Jane.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Brian Caher; nephew Shawn Riney; and brother-in-law Robert Ginter.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Colleen’s memory to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431
