Colleen Margaret O'Leary

Colleen Margaret O'Leary, age 42, of Arden Hills, passed away on September 21, 2025. Colleen was born in Fridley, MN, the first of three girls. As a child, she was shy but had a vivid curiosity and loved playing games, video games, and drawing. Growing up, Colleen was a true and loyal friend to many. She developed a passion for fashion and beauty and dedicated herself to sharing her gifts with others. She attended and graduated from Paul Mitchell The School of Cosmetology, where she honed her craft and began a career that would touch countless lives. Throughout her career, Colleen helped clients discover their confidence and inner beauty through her talent and genuine care. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen and valued, and she worked to make the world more beautiful-one person at a time. Colleen had an incredible work ethic which enabled her to achieve her dream of home ownership. In 2014, Colleen became a mother to Donovan, the joy and light of her life. She was a fiercely loving and proud mother, devoted to nurturing and supporting her son. Colleen cherished their time together-whether taking Donovan to the water park, whole family trips to Urban Air, building puzzles and Legos, or sharing her love of arts and crafts. She found deep joy in watching him grow and was both proud and humbled by his academic achievements. Her love for Donovan was boundless, and being his mother was her greatest honor. Colleen also had a strong interest in health and fitness. She completed several half marathons and fun runs, including the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon multiple times. She found joy and strength in Pilates and clean eating. Her dedication to wellness was a reflection of her desire to live fully and vibrantly. Colleen is survived by her son, Donovan Smith; her parents, Joseph (Laura) O'Leary and Carol (Dave) Klein; her sisters, Leslie O'Leary (Ramzy Shayib) and Shannon O'Leary; and her niece, Danica Rolow. She will be remembered for her bright personality, her kindness, and her deep love for her family. Her laughter and smile could light up any room and were gifts to everyone who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior at Washburn-McReavy Robbinsdale Chapel , 4239 W Broadway Ave, Robbinsdale.
