Bonnie Meland

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lou Meland, age 89, of Odessa, Florida (Formerly of Perham, MN and Golden Valley, MN) who passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on June 23, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN. Bonnie lived a long and fulfilling life devoted to her family and friends. She married Gerald Meland, in 1958, and together they built a loving home, and cabin filled with warmth, laughter and cherished memories. Bonnie was known for her kindness, strength, and sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, A LOT, was an avid reader. Her love and skill of her Crossword Puzzles was also a lifelong passion. Bonnie took great joy in entertaining, and cooking for family and friends whether at her home or at The Cabin. She also took great joy in her and Jerrys Winter trips to Florida and of course spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by Sister, Karen Bennett, children Mike, Steve (Lynda), Vicki (Chris), and Tom. Bonnie had ten grandchildren, along with eleven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Gerald Meland. Her legacy of love, compassion and resilience will live on through all who knew her. A funeral service will be held at Washburn-McReavy in Robbinsdale, 4239 West Broadway, Robbinsdale, on October 3, at 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. Lunch will follow at 12:00, at the Brookview Golf Course. 316 Brookview Parkway in Golden Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Free Library. Littlefreelibrary.org.
