Colleen Ellertson West passed peacefully away surrounded by family after fighting a valiant fight from a badly broken back. She was born September 3, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Dean Selman Ellertson and Bernice Rogers. She was voted Miss Valentine in Junior High. She attended the University of Utah and LDS Business College and worked as a Mentor helping middle school-age children with education and emotional support. She married Paul David West and they had 4 children.

Colleen was beautiful inside and out. She was selfless and loved helping others. She loved Fall-time and always made the holidays fun. She has funny, had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Colleen also loved gardening and won best yard one year.

She is survived by her children; Michele Swanagan, James (Shannon) West, Jennifer (Adam) Ostrander and Alison (Chase) West and her 11 Grandchildren. Brother, Jack (Joya) Ellertson and April Gomez. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents and her sister, Priscilla.

Services will be held at the South Jordan Parkway Ward, 9894 S 2700 W, South Jordan, Utah.  Viewing: Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services: Friday May 16, 2025 at 11:00 am, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate assistant with funeral expenses.  A crowd fund is provided below.
