We are heartbroken Buddy passed away August 20, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Buddy was born August 17, 1947, in White Hall Arkansas. His family moved to Missouri when he was very young.
After three years in the US Army from 1965-1968, he was employed by Jackson County, Missouri. He then opened his own business, Queen City Feed Store before returning to Jackson County Parks and Recreation. He then worked for ten years in the Independence School District as a courier before retiring in 2012.
Buddy has two beautiful daughters, Amy and Laura from a previous marriage. They gave him nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He married his soul mate and love, Cheryl in 1989 and they have a son Dylan. Dylan married Tricia and they moved to South Jordan, Utah and gave him three grandchildren. Buddy and Cheryl moved to Utah in 2023 to be near the young family, a big change after living in Independence for so many years.
Buddy loved to tell stories about his past adventures, go fishing, travel and always enjoyed time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of 36 years; son, Dylan and his wife Tricia; daughter, Amy and her husband, Carl; daughter, Laura and her husband Darren; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jackie and Sharon (husband David); plus many nephews, nieces and cousins.
We love him so much. He was so generous with an inner strength, and deep love for his family. We will never forget you.
