Collin Ian Gordon, 44, of Bloomfield CT, beloved husband, father, son, grandson, and family member departed this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
Collin was born at the University of the West Indies Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica to Laval and Sharon (Walker) Gordon. He attended Dunn Robin High School in Jamaica and later migrated to the United States in 1999. He settled in Bloomfield, CT and attended the Job Corp. Upon graduation from the Job Corp, he worked as a junior inspector at DJA Inspection Services. Later he moved on and became a certified API Inspector. Collin was a devoted employee and worked at DJA for seventeen years. He loved his job and the work that he did.
In his earlier years, Collin loved to play basketball and video games. As a teenager in Jamaica, he played basketball for Tivoli Gardens community. He also loved to watch football and dance.
As an adult Collin was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his sons. When he was not working or spending time with family, he enjoyed being at the barber shop where he was known as "Ice."
Collin loved to eat. He loved a good home cooked meal. He also loved to travel with his family. He often spent spring breaks and holidays visiting different places.
Collin was a joy to be around. He was a people person and always greeted you with a smile. He also loved the Lord and recently gave his life to Christ.
In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Simone Gordon, three sons, Jahlani, Jahbari, and Collin Jr., a goddaughter, Kiera all of Bloomfield, CT; two brothers Robert Gordon (Michelle) of Jamaica and Raphael Hewitt of Bloomfield, CT; two sisters Colette Gordon- Orr (Everton) and Chelsea Gordon of Bloomfield, CT; Grandmother, Olga Walker of Windsor, CT; three aunts Merline Furze, Rose Anne Marie Edwards of Windsor, CT, and Naomi Gordon of St. Martin, four uncles, Everton (Marjorie) Walker of Jamaica, Oliver Walker and Dave Walker of Windsor, CT, and Garfield (Matrisha) Walker of Bloomfield, CT; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his grandmother Enid Smith, grandfather George Walker and one sister, Sharon Anne Marie.
