Collin Cain Walker, 28, passed away peacefully at his home in Denver, Colorado on November 19, 2023. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 5, 1995, to Ginger and Kent Walker.
Creative and adventurous, Collin lived life to the fullest. He attended All Saints Episcopal School, and was a proud graduate of The University of Oklahoma. At the time of his death, he was pursuing a degree in Industrial Design at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Collin loved his OU Sooners, camping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, wakesurfing and rock climbing. He also loved music, sculpting and was a talented artist. He had an enormous heart for animals, and one of the great loves of his life was his dog, Luna.
Our Collin was many things. He was profoundly kind, gentle, sensitive, and compassionate. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and included. He was always there if he sensed someone was struggling in any way, big or small. He was protective by nature. He listened without judgment. In the last few days, the darkest we've ever known, so many have shared stories with us describing how Collin lifted them up with his quiet, compassionate wisdom and empathy. One mom told us she's convinced Collin saved her son during a particularly difficult time the son was going through. A sweet girl from high school wrote to us to say that she had never felt like she fit in, but Collin had been her loyal and steadfast friend, never once allowing her to feel like she was less than anyone else. There are too many others to mention, but messages like these have sustained us. We are so proud of the man he was.
Collin loved his family and friends immensely. When his beloved brother Sam was recently caught in the tragic wildfires of Lahaina, Hawaii, Collin immediately flew there to bring clothing and other supplies, as well as aid in rescue efforts. Despite the horror of those weeks and his obvious concern for his brother and others, Collin told a friend that he felt truly happy while he was there. We know it was because, at his core, Collin always just wanted to help people.
Collin is survived by his loving parents and brother; his grandmother, Tena Walker (Mom Tena); grandfather, Wes Davis (Granfer); uncle, Randy Cain and aunt, Jyl Cain; uncle, Greg Cain; cousins, Meredith and Vince Nunelly; Camille Cain; Courtney and Tim Kuhn; his cousins' children, Coen and Jude Nunelly and Caitlyn and Reagan Kuhn. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Luna, and treasured family friend, Uncle David Abell (who we're so thankful will be Luna's new adoptive dad).
Collin was preceded in death by his NaNa, his PapaT, his Pops, and his Aunt, Cindy Walker.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Marvin Methodist Church with a reception to follow immediately after in Pirtle Hall.
We want to offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends and family who have loved and supported us during this sad and difficult time. We've been overwhelmed by the kindness you've shown our family. We'd also like to offer special thanks to Christian, Emily, Caroline, Henry, Heyward, Parker, Tiffany, and David for helping us so much from Denver. We'll be forever grateful for you.
If you wish, memorial contributions can be made to Therapet (www.therapet.org) or The People's Fund of Maui (www.eifoundation.org). You could also honor Collin by simply extending a caring hand or offering a kind word to someone around you. We know he'd love that.

As someone who did not know Collin very well I saw the kindness and gentle thought behind his movements and way he spoke. Every time we saw each other walking by on campus he always went out of his way to say hello at the least. He was quiet yet speaks very loud to my heart. I will never forget him and the impact showing compassion as he did can make in someone“s life. I will miss your smile in the halls on campus.

The Walkers were neighbors of ours when they just moved to Tyler. Collin was a kind sweet human that we all knew would do great things in his life. The memories that we have of him and his brother Sam will live with us forever. Sending love to Kent, Ginger and Sam during this difficult time.
