Conce D. Martinez

FORT WORTH - Maria Concepcion Dominguez Martinez, better known as Conce, died on October 14, 2024, at the age of 91.
Conce was an artist who found inspiration with artists of all styles, techniques, opera, nature, and a world around her that many of us found hard to comprehend.
Conce traveled to Europe where she found inspiration from the great museums and artists. Following the examples of artists throughout the centuries, Conce was never satisfied with just one medium; she experimented with oils, watercolors, clay and porcelain.
Conce was an active member of the vibrant Fort Worth artist community who counted Razz Fiesler of the late Gallery 414 as a friend and mentor. She was recognized for her art contributions to Fort Worth in numerous gallery shows at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, the Fort Worth Public Library, Gallery 414, Tarrant County College North, and many other locations.
Conce was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years and the love of her life, Roberto Martinez; her brothers, J.J. and Pris; and her sisters, Celia, Virgina, and Dolores.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (wife, Karen Keller), Alex (Alexander) and Ed (Edward); her beloved grandchildren, Robert (Andy) and his husband, Larry Flores, Mende Martinez Potkay and her husband, Jason; and her beautiful great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Natalie.
Conce's harshest critic was Conce. A demon trait that followed her throughout her life as it has many artists.
A celebration of Conce's life will be scheduled at a later date.
