Concepcion Montemayor

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Concepción Garcia Montemayor, age 97, announces her passing on June 13, 2025, in League City, Texas. Born on October 9, 1927, in San Benito, Texas, Concepción was the daughter of Juanita De La Rosa and Manuel Balli Garcia Sr.
Concepción was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who dedicated her life to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Edelmiro Montemayor; her daughter, Josephine Montemayor; her sons, Edelmiro Jr., Eduardo, Enriquez, and Eugenio Montemayor; and her daughter-in-law, Vickie Ochoa Montemayor. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Viola Barrera, and her brother, Oscar Garcia.
She is survived by her children: Esteban (Steve) Montemayor and his wife Rachael, and Zachary Ridenour; Eloy Montemayor; and Esiquiel (Zeke) Montemayor and Kathy. She is also survived by her brother, Manuel Garcia, and her sister, Juanita Barrientos. Concepción leaves behind daughters-in-law Esther Sanchez, Mary Jane Montemayor and Maria Montemayor, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Melissa Montemayor, Edward Montemayor Jr. and his wife Aurora, Alejandro Montemayor, Amanda Jones and her husband DJ, Bianca Montemayor-Lee and her wife Keshanna, Jeni Salinas, Danielle Montemayor, Kristi Montemayor and her partner Giovanni, Gabrielle Montemayor, Abby Montemayor, and Matthew Montemayor-along with numerous great-grandchildren.
Concepción's family was her greatest joy. She loved to cook, especially tamales and tortillas, and had an exceptional sense of humor that could light up any room. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her dedication to her family, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her spirit will live on through the many lives she touched.
The family will honor Concepción's memory in a public service.
Serving as Active Pallbearers are Esteban (Steve) Montemayor, Esiquiel (Zeke) Montemayor, Eloy Montemayor, Edward Montemayor Jr., Zachary Ridenour, Matthew Montemayor. Honorary Pallbearers are Giovanni Delgado, Aaron Diaz, Aric Diaz.
