Connie C. Coccomo, 93, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. She was born in Southington, CT to the late John and Rose (Avitable) Mottola.
Connie met the love of her life, Tommy, at the Berlin Train Station when she was 15 years old. It was love at first sight when Connie and Tommy first met. Tommy was taken with Connie's looks and charm, and Connie was quite impressed with the handsome Army soldier in uniform. The couple married soon after Tommy returned from his service with the 11th Airborne in Japan. Connie and Tommy started a family and settled in New Britain, where they shared 67 wonderful years together.
Connie was employed by the Emhart Hardware Division in Berlin, CT. She retired after 34 years to spend more time with her family. She enjoyed traveling with Tommy, shopping, dining with her girls, and most of all, doting on her grandchildren. Connie was a devoted parishioner of St Ann's Church, where she was known to all as generous, kind, and selfless. Over the years, her friends and family knew her as Dolly, Connie, Mom, Grandma, or Mima. But no matter what you called her, she made sure that everyone in her life knew they held a special place in her heart.
Connie loved to say "For only what we give away, enriches us from day to day." For Connie, these were more than just words. She lived by example and encouraged us all to do the same.
Connie was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas and brother Carmen Mottola. In addition, she leaves her loving daughters, Debra Sokolowski and her husband Steven, and Laurie Coccomo Stifel and her husband Matthew, her cherished grandchildren: Kaley Sokolowski Saiz and her husband Severiano, Kamryn Sokolowski, Carson and Connor Stifel. She also leaves a niece and several nephews. Funeral service and burial will be private. Connie will be laid to rest in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. If you would like to honor Connie's memory, please consider donating to her charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

that memory becomes a treasure."
