Concetta P. 'Connie' (Quaranto) Murphy Nedza, of Waltham, died Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 84.
Connie was born in Somerville on September 13, 1940, a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Sorabella) Quaranto, and lived in Watertown before moving with the family to Waltham as a teenager.
She worked for a time at Lawson-Hill Shoe Company in Waltham before becoming a full-time ‘MeMa’ to her growing family of thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchidren . . . with them, she created memories of a lifetime.
She leaves her husband, Paul A. Nedza; her children, Karen Murphy of Waltham, Michael Murphy of Wilmington, Dawna Murphy of Maynard, John Murphy (Luzia) of Northport, Florida and Scott Murphy (Tracie) of Hudson, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Billy, Kevin, Ryan, Stephanie, Patrick, Mikey, Kristina, Katelynn, Jessica, Anthony, Krystal, Scottie and Tricia; her sister, Elizabeth Thibodeau of Plymouth; twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Connie was also a sister of the late Peter Quaranto and John “Gus’ Quaranto, Jr.
Family and friends will honor and remember Connie's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning when her Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
