Concetta C. Scarpulla

Concetta Scarpulla, nee Concetta DeFelice, passed away on July 6, 2024, in Brick, New Jersey. Born June 27, 1926, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Concetta was a beacon of love and creativity, deeply cherished by all who knew her. Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Frank Scarpulla, her sister, Mary (DeFelice) Parente and brothers, Salvatore and Anthony DeFelice, Etta leaves behind her three daughters and their spouses, Carolyn and Anthony Ninivaggi, Marilyn and Richard Normyle and Audrey and Steven Myers; grandchildren, Heather Diliberto, Faith Ninivaggi, Richard Normyle, Lauren Lanzillotta, Robert Schneider, Daniel Holden and Deanna DeGrandis. Concetta had four great grandsons, Joseph and Caesar Diliberto, Ronald and Luca Lanzillotta; five great granddaughters, Sophia Estee, Eliana Estee, Luciana Diliberto, and Lilliana and Camilla Lanzillotta; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Concetta dedicated many years to nurturing her three daughters before embarking on a career. She first worked at Holthausen's Department Store in West New York and later became the first seamstress for Liz Claiborne, a role she held with pride. Her work not only showcased her skill but also her dedication and passion for fashion.
Beyond her professional achievements, Concetta was a devout member of Our Lady of Libera and St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she found great solace. Her hobbies included sewing, which complemented her career; and she took great joy in home decorating, especially during the holidays, which allowed her to express her creativity and care. An avid reader, her favorite authors were Mary Higgins Clark and Danielle Steele.
Concetta's family and friends will gather to honor her life and legacy during a visitation on Friday, July 12, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Vainieri Funeral Home, located at 5923 John F Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ 07047. Vainieri's Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements, ensuring that Concetta's memory is honored with the utmost respect and dignity. Her loving, caring, and creative spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
