Connie June McLain, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday morning, May 13, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on July 23, 1952, in Knox County, Tennessee, Connie was the daughter of the late Ernest Slagle and the late Betty June Moore Slagle. She married Charles William "Bill" McLain on September 2, 1972; he preceded her in death on March 30, 2020. She worked as a personnel manager for the Tennessee Department of Health South Central Regional Office for thirty-three years before retiring in 2005. She enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting, but above all, she loved her grandchildren and getting together with her family. Connie was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her children: Jeff (Sandy) McLain of Columbia, Jennifer (William) Jones of Columbia; brother, Gary (Becky) Slagle, sister, Brenda Steward, sister in law, Alice (Glen) White, grandchildren: Jake (Kelly) Riggins, Brittany (Patrick) Hartman, Hallie McLain, Dylan McLain; great grandchildren, Isabella Hartman and Arlen Riggins, and several nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center and Morning Pointe.
