Connie Michael Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 3, 2026.
Connie Sue Michael, 70, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 1,
2026, at Homestead in Centerville, Iowa.
Born on August 28, 1955, in Kirksville, Missouri, Connie was the beloved daughter of Adrian
and Elizabeth Lewis. She grew up with a deep appreciation for family, tradition, and carried a
lifelong pride in the Lewis Family Century Farm near Martinstown, Missouri - a place that
symbolized her roots, work ethic, and love of home.
Connie graduated from Putnam County High in 1973 and later received her Registered
Nursing degree in 1991. Connie devoted more than 35 years to serving others as a nurse
with the Putnam County Public Health Department. Her career was marked by compassion,
resilience, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. No matter the weather - rain, snow,
or scorching heat - Connie traveled the back roads of Putnam County to care for those who
needed her most. In 2010, she retired as Public Health Administrator, leaving behind a
legacy of service that touched countless lives.
She is survived by her three sons: Josh (Tanya) Rennells of Fogelsville, Pennsylvania; Mike
(LaCosta) Rennells of Grain Valley, Missouri; and Tanner (Kate) Michael of Unionville,
Missouri.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren: Addison Rennells, Luke
Rennells, Willem Rennells, Chandler Rennells, Hillary Rennells, Collin Rennells, Adrian
Rennells, Grady Michael, and Magnolia Michael.
Connie is also survived by her sister, Ellen Gordon (Tom McDonald); mother-in-law, Amber
Michael; sisters-in-law, Diana Lewis and Gina Mathes; brother-in-law, Byron Michael;
nieces, Linda Lewis, Teresa Pothier, Brogan Robbins; and nephews, Dustin Gordon, Brad
Bankers, Chris Michael, and Ryan Michael, along with many extended family members and
friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Nick Michael; her brother, David
Lewis; her parents, Adrian and Elizabeth Lewis; her father-in-law, Nelson Michael; and her
brother-in-law, Monty Michael.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in
Unionville, Missouri. The family will be greeting friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service
time. Interment will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery near Martinstown, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkview Church of Christ or
the Lone Pine Cemetery.
