Judi Michael Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Iles Grandview Park Chapel on Feb. 13, 2026.
Judi Luree Michael, age 65, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at The University of Nebraska Medical Center. Judi was known for her unwavering loyalty, caring heart, and quick wit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and quiet resilience that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She was born on August 26, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Jerry Dale Evans and Janet Lou (Fitzgibbons) Evans. A proud graduate of Southeast Polk High School (Class of 1978) where she participated in cheerleading throughout high school. She particularly loved the social aspect of this sport, which perfectly suited her naturally warm and social spirit.

Judi was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area who dedicated many years to serving her community as a 911 Dispatcher for the Urbandale Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff's Office. She was often the calm, steady voice during life's most difficult moments-compassionate, composed, and deeply committed to helping others. She took great pride in her work and the purpose it brought her. She later worked at Ryko Manufacturing and Wells Fargo, where she continued to be a reassuring and friendly presence to all she encountered.

Above all else, Judi's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her twin daughters, Brooke and Brittany, and poured herself into their lives with unwavering dedication and support. Whether cheering in the stands at basketball, track, rowing, weightlifting, or especially softball games, she was always there-steadfast, present, and proud. When her girls were young, she was an active member of the Des Moines Mothers of Multiples, where she connected with other mothers who understood the unique joys and challenges of raising twins. She was also a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt always willing to step in and help however she could. With Judi, there was never a question of whether you were loved-she made sure you knew.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Judi loved country music and classic rock-especially Van Halen and Sammy Hagar-and often had music playing in the background of her day. She treasured time with the many dogs she loved over the years, endless reruns of her favorite soap operas, Real Housewives, TLC shows, and her morning coffee, usually with a cigarette in hand. More than anything, she cherished simply being with the people she loved-family and friends alike. You didn't have to be doing anything at all; she was happiest just being together, enjoying your presence.

Judi faced life's challenges with strength, perseverance, humor, and grace. Her faith sustained her through difficult seasons, and she trusted in God's presence in her life. Those who knew her learned from her example what it meant to be loyal, dependable, and to love deeply and without hesitation. The family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope of being reunited with her again.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Brooke Luree Michael and Brittany Linn (Justin) Rolniak; her brother, Jerry (Lola) Evans; nephews Jarod (Kelsey) Evans, Tyler (Liz) Evans, and Michael Evans; and nieces Alexandria Evans, Ashley Evans, and Meredith Evans; Stepchildren, Bobbie (Grady) Hallum, Christopher (Jessi) Wilson along with countless extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Dale Evans and Janet Lou Evans; her brother, Jay Evans; and her beloved life partner, Bobby Wilson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final funeral and memorial expenses. Remaining funds will be donated in Judi's memory to local charities supporting animals, children, and those less fortunate.

For those unable to attend services, a live streaming link will appear on the online obituary at the time of the service.

Friends and Family are welcome for food and drinks after services at The P.A.R.C. Recreation Center 5374 NE 12th Avenue in Pleasant Hill, Iowa 50327 from 12:30 pm - 3pm.
