Connie was born on April 24, 1945, in Whitesboro, TX to the late Hubert Lee (Bubbie) Sissney and the late Ann Marshall Sissney. She departed from life on February 13, 2025, in Dallas, Texas peacefully, and surrounded by immediate family.
Connie was raised in Whitesboro TX. and attended school there. She took piano lessons for 12 years from Mrs. Allen and had many recitals and played piano as a youth at school and church assemblies. This was a passion she carried on for most of her life. Connie graduated from beauticians’ school and worked as a beautician for many years in Gainesville, TX and owned her own shop in Lindsay, TX. She had a son Steven and married Kenneth Kemp and lived in Whitesboro and Gainesville for many years. After that, she held positions in accounting and finance. She enjoyed several types of music, especially Elvis, as anyone at her house is familiar with the “Elvis Room”. She attended her son’s sporting events nervously and very protectively. She probably gave 1000 haircuts to Steven and his friends in the kitchen throughout his high school years. Later on in life she married Don Moore on Sept 5, 1998 and together they enjoyed camping, especially at Paw Paw Joe’s land. She enjoyed going to different restaurants with her husband Don. She loved to cook, especially on Thanksgiving and she loved their trips to Taos New Mexico together. They enjoyed attending church in later years with Connie doing bookkeeping for the church. She totally enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Chloe, Josey and Jacey.
Preceding her in death were her parents Bubbie and Ann and her “bonus Dad” Joe R. Phelps (Paw Paw Joe).
Connie is survived by her husband Don Moore of Kaufman TX. Her son Steven Kemp of McKinney Tx. Don’s children Mike and Susan Moore, of Scurry TX., Mindy and James Carpenter of Arlington Tx and grandchildren, Chloe Kemp Robison and husband Micah of Flower Mound Tx., Josey Kemp and Jacey Kemp both of Greenville Tx., Bailey Moore of Kaufman Tx. and Jessica (Jade) Bernard and husband Justin of El Paso Tx. She leaves behind a host of many family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church via WellsFargo.com in Kaufman Tx in Connie's memory.
