Connie L. Schwartz, 61, of Brookings, SD passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Brookings Health System, Brookings, SD. Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, March 3, 2023 at Rude's Funeral Home, Brookings, SD. Rude's Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Connie L. Stokes was born November 27, 1961 in Dells Rapids, SD the daughter of Charles H. and Loretta Eileen (Faber) Stokes. She grew up and attended school in Brookings, SD.
Connie was united in marriage to Rick Schwartz on October 1, 1982 in Odessa, TX. They made their home in Brookings, SD.
Over the years, Connie worked at Julian's Bakery, Easter Seals and Sears until starting her own business in 2009, Connie's Cleaning.
Connie loved her cats, she enjoyed gardening and canning and was an amazing cook. She loved cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. She loved going to her grandson's baseball games and she loved going fishing with Rick. She would sit back and enjoy the sun if the fish weren't biting.
She loved being a grandmother, she loved all of her grandchildren and loved attending all of their events and supporting them.
Connie is survived by her husband, Rick Schwartz of Brookings, SD; her daughter, Brandi (Andrew) Dorn of Brookings, SD; her mother, Loretta Stokes of Brookings, SD; her brother, Kevin (Deb) Stokes of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren, Cole McElhany of Brookings, SD, Ky Dorn of Brookings, SD, Boe Dorn of Brookings, SD and Mya Dorn of Brookings, SD; her nieces and nephews, Lori Rojas, Stephanie Inch and Nathan Stokes.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Stokes; her grandfather, Alfred Faber, grandmother, Gladys Molstad; step-grandfather, Arnold Molstad; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Darlene Schwartz.
