Connie Sochacki Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial - Bower Rose Funeral Home - Marine City on Mar. 31, 2026.
Connie L. Sochacki, age 72, of East China, Michigan, passed away on March 28, 2026. She was born on January 25, 1954, in Algonac, the daughter of the late Edward and Luzetta (Grosser) Mackensen.

Connie lived a life marked by creativity, kindness, and a genuine love for people. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warm spirit touched the lives of many. On February 16, 2008, she married Gary, and together they shared many years filled with companionship, laughter, and treasured memories. She is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Kiley Mitti and Trevor Maas; and her brothers, Gary (Linda) Mackensen and Brian Mackensen. She was preceded in death by her son, Troy Maas, and her brother, Ronald E. Mackensen, whom she loved dearly and remembered always.

Connie worked for Parkside Printing in Marine City, where she was known for her steady work ethic and pleasant nature. Beyond her employment, she was deeply involved in the arts and found great joy in expressing herself through many creative outlets. She loved art and had a special talent for creating artistic dolls and characters. Her imagination and attention to detail were reflected in everything she made, and her work often brought smiles to those who saw it.

She also enjoyed theatre and had a strong appreciation for the performing arts. Pottery was another passion of hers, and she cherished the time she spent working with clay and was the pottery program facilitator at the Washington Life Center in Marine City. Connie found fulfillment in being part of creative communities, and she was a member of both the St. Clair Art Association and the Mt. Clemens Art Association. She enjoyed volunteering and was pleased to display some of her artwork at their facilities, sharing her gifts with others in a way that reflected her generous heart.

Many will remember Connie for her cheerful personality and the joy she brought to special occasions. She was known as Daisy the Clown, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and delight. She especially enjoyed making balloon animals for birthday parties, where her playful spirit and kind humor made her a welcome presence. Her ability to entertain and brighten the day of others was one of the many ways she shared her love with the world.

Connie also had a love for travel and adventure. She enjoyed traveling and that included camping in their travel trailer, going on cruises, and even visiting Alaska. She enjoyed time spent in Vegas seeing KÀ by Cirque du Soleil. These experiences brought her happiness and lasting memories, and she embraced them with curiosity and excitement. Whether spending time with family, creating art, or exploring new places, Connie lived with appreciation for the beauty and enjoyment life had to offer.

Her family and friends will remember her for her creativity, her loving nature, and the many ways she made life brighter for those around her. Connie leaves behind a legacy of artistic expression, devotion to family, and a life lived with heart. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.

A gathering and viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home, 222 N. Main Street, Marine City, MI 48039. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the Washington Life Senior Center.
