Patrick Paul Ireland

Patrick Paul Ireland, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on October 28, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Patrick was the beloved son of the late Paul and Ellen (Priehs) Ireland.
Patrick's life was one of dedication and love, both for his family and his work. He is survived by his children, Kerry (Leroy) Kenny of Calumet and Jessica (Jeff) McAuliff of Warren, Tammi (Jeffrey) Bearden of Ruby, Shawn Potvin of Port Huron, Scott (Kelly) Potvin of Cottrellville, and Bruce Potvin of Marine City; his brothers, Mark (Cheryl) Ireland of Clinton Township and Lance (Connie) Ireland of Sterling Heights; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Patrick served his country with the United States Navy and continued on to devote 36 years of service at DTE as a skilled pipefitter. His commitment to his work was matched only by his involvement with the Southeastern Conservation Club, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow members and a shared passion for the great outdoors.
Patrick's interests painted the picture of a man who loved life's simple pleasures. He found solace in spending time at his property in Lewiston and was a familiar face at the local Moose Lodge. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a quiet afternoon or an exciting adventure.
Patrick was a man who could find joy in the everyday. His love for lottery tickets was a testament to his eternal optimism, always believing in the possibility of what could be.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ellen Ireland, and his beloved wife, Terry Lee Ireland, whom he married on December 31, 1990, in Marine City. Terry's passing on July 30, 2011, left a void in Patrick's heart, but he continued to live each day with the strength and compassion that characterized his entire life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home, 222 N. Main Street, Marine City, MI 48039. Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate. A celebration of his life will follow at the Southeastern Michigan Conservation Club, 2402 Belle River Rd, East China Township, MI 48054.
