Connie L. Stinde

Connie L. (Dillinger) Stinde, 70, of Centralia, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at Salem Township Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1953 in Centralia, the daughter of Lyman Dillinger and Georgia (Moulton) Dillinger. She married Kermit L. Stinde on July 3, 1970 in Salem at the home of the Late Rev. and Mrs. Cecil Martin and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2015.
Connie is survived by her two daughters: Amy Kendall and husband Scott of Central City and Melissa Nanzer of Bourbonnias; daughter-in-law: Andrea Stinde of Salem; four grandchildren: Lucas Kendall, Hayden Stinde, Justin DuBois, Brittany Nanzer; four siblings: Tom Dillinger and wife June of Centralia, Dianne Robbins and husband Don of Central City, Mary Smith and Husband Gary of Centralia, and Alice Hall and husband Dale of Iuka; sister-in-law: Jan Ford and husband B.J. of Centralia; special nephew: Steve Smith of Centralia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lyman and Georgia Dillinger, husband: Kermit L. Stinde, son: Kermit John Stinde, sister: Patricia Dillinger, grandparents: Peter Dillinger, Lucy Dulaney, Thomas Moulton and Clara Butler, brothers-in-law: Roy Stinde, Larry Stinde, and William "Billy" Stinde, sister-in-law: Carolyn and Allen Prosise, and father and mother-in-law: John and Opal Stinde.
Connie attended Centralia High School. She was a member of Central City Baptist Church. Connie worked at the Community Resource Center, Western Auto, and Sears. She was an avid Chicago Cub Fan. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Stinde Family.
