Connie Smith Elliott Torno, age 59, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born April 20, 1966, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Connie was the beloved daughter of the late James and Sue Davis Elliott. Raised in a military family, she experienced life in many places throughout her youth, shaping her into the warm, outgoing, and adaptable woman so many came to love.
Connie was a devoted mother, cherished partner, and loyal friend. A true social butterfly, she had the rare gift of connection—able to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Her kind heart, quick wit, and genuine warmth made her a natural in the world of customer service, where she worked for many years, always putting others at ease with her smile and spirit.
For 35 years, Connie shared a beautiful life with her life partner, Tom. Together, they traveled across the country with a carnival, building rides and creating memories. Whether constructing their home with their own hands or navigating the open road, they were inseparable—partners in every sense of the word.
Connie loved games, especially poker, and was known as a bit of a card shark. She and Tom enjoyed countless trips to Tunica, where she put her skills to the test. A gifted cook, Connie had a special talent for crafting gourmet pizzas, often delighting her family with her culinary creations.
Above all, Connie lived for her family. Her love for Tom, her children, and her grandchildren was the heartbeat of her life. She poured her soul into every relationship, and her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Connie's radiant spirit, generous heart, and unshakeable love will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her Heavenly Father and the loved ones who went before her.
Connie is survived by her life partner of 35 years: Tom Pierce; children: Karen Elliott, Angela Williams, Amber Robinson, Heaven Pierce, and Thomas “Tom Tom” Pierce, Jr.; grandchildren: Kairen Pierce, Mya Clanton, Grayson Clanton; sister: Debbie (Gary) Lee; brother: Timmy Elliott; nieces and nephews: Jennifer & Jessica, Wayne Bowen, and Justin Bowen and Tonya Elliott; special friend: Victoria Lopez. Connie is preceded in death by her parents Jimmie and Sue Elliott and her in laws: Joseph and Elise May Pierce.
