Conor "Quatro" Jacob Mannion (26) sadly passed away on Friday, November 15th, 2024 following a 4-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
He was a dear son of Michael and Jennifer Mannion (née Carollo), beloved brother to Brendan and Lily Mannion, and cherished grandson of James "Pabull" Mannion and Jack "Opa" Carollo.
He will be missed by his uncles and aunts Billy & Karen George (née Mannion); Pete & Rose Decker (née Mannion); Donny & Patti Torgersen (née Mannion); James & Karen Mannion (née Frieden); Tim & Cheri Dickherber (née Mannion); Tim & Godmother Amy Mannion (née Stewart); Sorex & Kimberly Viracco (née Carollo); and Tiya Carollo (née Repsher); and his great-uncles and great-aunts Jack & Sue Happe (née Paubel); Lou & Peggy Carollo (née Verheyden); and Bob & Juanita Carollo (née Schuyler
Conor was loved by his many cousins, and will be remembered for all the fun memories they made together. He was especially close to his cousins Caleb, Kyle, Stefani, & Sully and will always be treasured by his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Laura Carollo (née Trzebiatowski) and Shirley Mannion (née Happe), Godfather Kevin Decker, and uncle Jason Carollo.
Conor was known as a quiet, humble, and easygoing person on the outside, but his closest family and friends loved him for his spirit and sense of humor. When Conor spoke seriously, it was with wisdom, offering great advice for others to follow. He spent a lot of his free time with his friends, and would go out of his way to support them whenever and however possible. He loved coming home to the two family dogs Reaper and Brittany, and spending time with his family.
He was a fan of many sports, but ice hockey was his favorite. He played for 15 years, gaining the nickname Quatro, and loved to watch and support the St. Louis Blues (Let's Go Blues!). During this time, Conor learned many important life lessons, formed connections to teammates and coaches, and matured into the compassionate and caring person everyone loved. Conor loved playing all kinds of games, from board to video to card to roleplaying. This interest led him to forming some of his lifelong friendships. As he got older, Conor also grew an interest in cooking. Instead of starting with the basics, he jumped right in. He was most known for cooking Korean cuisine, becoming a grill master, and developing his famous mac and cheese.
Even in his most difficult moments, Conor remained brave and positive. He was very thankful for all the care his family and others gave him. He was very loved, and his graciousness and courage will continue to inspire all he knew.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (https://siteman.wustl.edu/give/giving/) or a
