Constance Jacqueline Burrows, (Connie) beloved mother to seven children and devoted wife, 88, of New Harmony, Utah, passed away on May 3, 2025 in St. George Utah. She was born on December 31, 1936 in Price, Utah as the only child of Herman Louis Pressett and Minnie Jane (Smith) Pressett. She was raised in Price, Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah and Bellflower, California, graduating from Bellflower High School in June 1955. Connie married the love of her life, George Edward Burrows in July, 1955 in Bellflower, California. They were sealed in January, 1957 for time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they created a wonderful marriage and life together with their seven children, participating in all sorts of adventures.
Connie enjoyed a happy childhood and was involved in many church and school activities, such as drama, student government, music, dances, and sports, while growing up. Her favorite place to go was the beach. During her high school years, she worked at the Los Angeles County Library and in retail sales. Once married, Connie dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She loved keeping a clean and organized home. Connie worked evenings at the UC Davis Library while her husband was in veterinary school and later as a bookkeeper for a couple of years when her children were in school. She was also involved in many community activities, such as Red Cross, American Cancer and Heart Associations, UC Davis Veterinary Wives Assoc., Washington Veterinary Wives Assoc. as President, Campfire Girls Leader, PTA, Room Mother and school board member, throughout her children's schooling. Once she and her husband retired and moved to Utah, Connie became a devoted and dedicated member of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP) and was instrumental in establishing the New Harmony, Utah Camp. She served as Camp Captain, 2nd Vice Captain, Museum Docent and Registrar. She developed a love of family history and genealogy, spending many hours on the computer to research and write her own family's history as well as extended family. Connie was also a member of the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in the New Harmony area. She enjoyed keeping in contact with friends and family through social media and never missed sending cards, messages and gifts for birthdays, Christmas and anniversaries.
Connie was a faithful, lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including Chorister, Primary President, Stake Primary Board, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, Young Women President, Temple Ordinance Worker, and Compassionate Service Leader. Together with her husband, George, she served a Stake Welfare Service Mission. She led by example, kindness, and honesty and always welcomed a newcomer.
Throughout their married life, Connie and George lived in many places around the world: Southern California; Davis, California; Pullman, Washington; Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa; Stillwater, Oklahoma; Harare, Zimbabwe; Sydney, Australia; Grenada; and New Harmony, Utah. They took the time to explore, love, and enjoy each location and its people and give their children extraordinary opportunities and experiences. As their children married and started their own families, they dedicated time to travel, visit, and support each family regularly.
Constance is survived by her loving husband, George Edward Burrows, sons, Edward L. Burrows (Kathy), Dana D. Burrows (Shirley), Christian D. Burrows (Angela), S. Leon Burrows (Ingrid), and daughters, Jacqueline E. Davidson (Richard), Audrey J. Rutter, Heidi A. Owens (Kenton), 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Minnie Pressett and grandson McKay Burrows.
