Constance Einstadter Obituary

Constance Einstadter
04/18/1931 - 06/05/2025
Constance (Connie) Einstadter, 94, of Walnut Creek, CA, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 5, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Werner Einstadter. Constance was born April 18, 1931, in Peabody Massachusetts, moving to California in the 1940s with her father and settling in the Bay Area. She also lived in Michigan from 1967-1992, before moving back to the East Bay.
Constance had a long and rewarding life. Graduating from Hayward High, she earned a BA in English from Eastern Michigan University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. She worked for many years as an administrator in social work and behavioral health.
She was a voracious reader and enjoyed being part of several book discussion clubs over the years. She always kept up with current events by reading newspapers and listening to the radio. She liked cooking and trying out new recipes from around the world. She also liked to try her hand at knitting, hook rugging, and even took up painting in more recent years.
She is survived by three children, Laura, Ellen ( Polley), and Douglas; granddaughter, Deven (David Hoover); two great-grandsons, Isaac and Ethan Hoover; and her half-sister, Rosalie Smolinsky.
A private celebration of life is planned for later this year.
In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in her memory.
