Constance Herberg Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 7, 2026.
Connie Herberg, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Richfield, Minnesota. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and love that touched all who knew her.

Born on October 21, 1944, in Blackduck, Minnesota, Connie grew up surrounded by the values of hard work and compassion that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1962 and soon after began a distinguished career with the United States Government. Connie would go on to serve for 35 years in the Air Force division as a Contracting Specialist, a role in which she demonstrated unwavering dedication and integrity.

On August 17, 1968, Connie married Vern Herberg, beginning a devoted union that spanned more than five decades. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and commitment. They were blessed with three children: daughter Laurie (1969), son Jason (1971) and daughter Lisa (1975). Connie took great pride in her role as a mother and found her greatest joy in caring for and supporting her family. Later, she was blessed to become a grandmother to Megan (2000) and Drew (2002). She treasured time babysitting them in their early years and proudly supported them as they grew, attending their sporting events, school activities, and milestones.

Connie's life was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith. Her devotion shaped her generous spirit and guided her daily actions. She was known for her boundless kindness and selflessness - always ready to lend a hand or offer a warm meal to those around her. Cooking and baking were among her greatest joys; she found happiness in preparing meals for friends and family, creating not just food but cherished memories around the table.

She also had a passion for travel and delighted in exploring new places with loved ones. Whether near or far, these adventures were opportunities to connect more deeply with those she held dear.

Connie is survived by her husband, Vernon Herberg; her children Laurie (daughter) and Chris Lemke, Jason Herberg (son) and Suzie Rodoni, and Lisa (daughter) and Tom Dohmen; grandchildren Megan and Drew Dohmen; and brother Bob Ness and his wife Betty, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, several grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Adolph and mother, Alice Ness, her sisters Joan Ness, Jody Adams, and Myrna Ness; brothers Don Ness and Kevin Ness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Richfield, Minnesota on Monday, January 12th at 11:00 with visitation one hour prior.

Connie's warmth, generosity, and steadfast love will be remembered always. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
