Constance MacNeil Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Dec. 30, 2025.
Constance J. "Connie" MacNeil, 81, of Beverly, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. She was born on January 12, 1944, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the daughter of Beryl and Richard Shaw. After graduating from high school, Connie moved to Boston, where she began her career and met the love of her life, the late William E. "Bill" MacNeil. Connie and Bill were married for 52 devoted years, building a life together rooted in love, laughter, and family.
Connie worked for State Street Bank in Boston for 9 years before she and Bill settled in Beverly to raise their family. There, she made lasting friendships and became a familiar and trusted face in the community. She went on to enjoy a career of 30 years with Santander Bank at the same Beverly location, where she treasured the relationships she built with countless customers and colleagues.
Family and tradition were at the heart of Connie's life. She cherished annual trips to Fort Fairfield and Cape Cod, and in later years, she and Bill enjoyed traveling to Florida with close friends. Upon retiring, Connie found her greatest happiness in time spent with her family-especially her grandsons, who were the joy of her life. She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, shopping and enjoyed watching Celtics basketball games. Connie also delighted in the companionship of her dear friends, lovingly known as the "DBs" (Dinner Bells), with whom she shared many meals, stories, and support through the years.
A woman of quiet faith, Connie was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish, having converted to Catholicism in her adult life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud "Grammy."
Connie is survived by her children, Kelly Moloney and her husband Thomas of Beverly, and Shawn MacNeil and his wife Jennifer of Groveland; her sisters, Jean Shaw of Maine and Judith Margelot of Connecticut; and her beloved grandchildren, Colin, Tyler, Nolan, and Garrett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Sandra Shaw of Caribou, Maine.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Friday, January 9th at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Thursday, January 8th from 4pm to 7pm. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. Contributions may be made in Connie's memory to the American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, or online at stroke.org.
